Judy Galvan: I spent my 60th in Sedona (where I live).. Had a wonderful dinner at Rene's... only 5 star restaurant in Town... Took a neat 10 mile bike ride during the day.
Bev Bowne: I remember back in high school when everyone was getting their driver's licenses, I was so jealous because I was still only 15 and didn't turn 16 until the following February so I had to just remain the "passenger." So I am finally able to reap the rewards of that jealousy--I'm not 60 until February of 2009!! Unfortunately, I am not planning any great trips like Brenda, Bev and Steve, or Michelle. I am looking forward to seeing everyone again. Thanks for all you do in keeping us together and the memories alive!!

Nancy Bailey: I'm turning 60 in July & am not planning anything special. My life is blessed. I am content to spend my time at my two homes, on the coast & in the desert of SD County. I've worked part-time as a library technician for the past 3 years & am still discovering loads of interesting reading & viewing materials. I enjoy my two volunteer jobs. The Anza Borrego Desert State Park volunteering keeps me in touch with nature & my "players' assistant" work at The Crossings @ Carlsbad ( second most expensive muni course in the US ) keeps me enjoying free golf. I'm also volunteering at the US Open next month. I have a very comfortable, peaceful life! |
Tom Power; (June 3) My birthday was yesterday and I suppose it's time to face facts. But as my fortune said last night, age is only a number. I had a major health issue last year and now that I've been repaired, I figure I've got another 60 to look forward to. My celebration was quiet, took most of the day off and had a couple of close friends over for dinner. And treated myself to a Tatonka Stout at BJ's Brewery. Not very exciting, but very satisfying. And I won't even compare my trip to Texas later this month to Brenda's trip to Egypt. As long as I still have a daughter at MIT, I don't think I'll be planning any exotic vacations. Happy 60 to all and remember, its just a number.
Sarah Libby Purdy Zaloumis: I had some friends take me on their private jet to Spain for 5 days! Only 4 of us. We stayed in Madrid at the Ritz and they paid for everything -- it was unbelievable we also went to Seville. My friends husband is on the board at Georgetown and they had a meeting in Madrid so they took me along -- got me my own room (their daughter went too) and it was unbelievable he had just purchased this jet from Verizon last year. NEWS: Both kids are finally getting married -- Nicole is in Seattle working for FoxSports and Chris got out of Duke with his MBA and just changed companies after 8 years and loves his new job -- He and (Renee) are getting married in Del Mar (near San Diego) in September. Their paying for it too! |
